Young Writers
The Young Writers of Meeuw jonge theatermakers and Explore the North are coming to Podium Explore on Sunday, February 8! This afternoon, you can listen to both songs and various theatrical texts performed by the Young Writers.
The Young Writers have recently received lessons from Caro Goldenbelt on writing theatrical texts. Koen Frijns, also part of the literary duo Frino who performed their final show at Explore the North 2025, has taught these talents more about writing literary song lyrics.
Young Writers is the writing program for youth (ages 14-18) by MEEUW jonge theatermakers and Explore the North. The participants learn the fundamental skills of the writing profession and are introduced to various genres such as drama, prose, and poetry under the guidance of teachers Caro Goldenbelt and Koen Frijns.

We conclude the series of lessons with a performance on Sunday, February 8, where you can present your texts to the audience. Additionally, we collaborate with festivals and venues: the Young Writers have previously performed at Explore the North and Oerol. For instance, they wrote texts for Het Grote Onbekende, Toen Rijst Nog Jong Was, Het Arrivacomplot, and a podcast as part of Arcadia’s Bosk.
