TOEN RIJST NOG JONG WAS
We want hope. A good relationship with your brother, a holiday to Iceland and looking like Dionne Stax. You wish David Bowie was still alive, and that you had the guts to go anywhere. You want a date that goes exactly as you imagine it and that your mother finally admits that things are the way they are. You want to grow older and wait for the day when everything will change, while at the same time hoping that everything will always stay the same. Wanting a lot and being able to do little Something we have all had to deal with this past year. Right?
TOEN RIJST NOG JONG WAS is made based on texts by five young writers, played by three professional actors. A co-production of Meeuw jonge theatermakers and Explore the North.
With productions like this we want to showcase a new voice from young writers in the Frisian writing landscape.

Jonge schrijvers
Young Writers is an initiative of Meeuw jonge theatermakers in collaboration with Explore the North. Young people from the age of 14 receive lessons in writing. Directors and players use their texts to create theatrical performances that are programmed at festivals such as Explore the North. A lively, interdisciplinary writing climate in Fryslân, that is what we have in mind with this collaboration. Theatre, performance and literature are the basic ingredients.
