De Dansavond
DE DANSAVOND is the timeless story of the search for an unforgettable evening, of high expectations and hopes for that one. From gathering courage on the sidelines and painful attempts. From being rejected with a bang and kissing at the emergency exit. The world doesn't stand still, but some things never change.
Meeuw has been around for 25 years!
In 2015 we will appear every 25th of the month with an episode of a series of special theater events. Always one-off and small-scale. Each time at a different location, with different guests and an unexpected perspective.
Alles is een scheermes
The Leeuwarden station area, the bond with your brother or sister, your niece's teeth: everything changes. You cut your hair, you bake spacecake and you can't find the Albert Heijn around the corner anymore.
We´ll meet again
Your brother is leaving for a new job far abroad. You stay behind in your Frisian village. “Goodbye, we'll keep in touch. We will call and write,” you promise each other. And that's when the war starts.
Een nacht niet slapen
A performance about people who cannot or do not want to sleep, about a dike village, a nightmare, a singing lamppost and a night-time accident. About looking for boundaries, encountering boundaries and going beyond them.
Van oude dingen de mensen die voorbijgaan
We commemorate the Second World War through stories of the people who experienced the war. We started looking for stories about the war based on items. Items that have been left behind, stolen, lost or found.
Olympia Palace
Eight young people meet eachother every day at the gym: Olympia Palace. Because in the village where they live there is little else you can do. They work on themselves. And they dream.
Alleen in Surhuisterveen
Is missing a job less painful than missing a friend? Does missing your freedom as a prisoner hurt as much as missing your home as a sailor? And what if you're missing an arm, leg or finger? Can you be alone and miss something together?
TOEN RIJST NOG JONG WAS
You wait for the day when everything changes. While you hope that everything will remain the same. Wanting a lot and being able to do little. A co-production of Meeuw jonge theatermakers and Explore the North.
NO GUTS NO GLORY
Squeaking and creaking, the world starts again. And we are so happy that everything is returning to normal. Or..? Is this the time to change course and do things differently?
